How might I use these case studies?
This project offers researchers, educators, policymakers, and learners resources that highlight diverse stakeholder viewpoints, allowing for broader discussions on the implications of AI governance for education. The goal being to provide much needed resources about GenAI, with a specific focus on research integrity and AI governance for the emerging era of Industry 5.0 . This is signficant, as current research suggests that there is a need for greater awareness among leadership teams regarding where, how, and why AI systems are being used (Director’s Guide to AI Governance).

Case studies have been widely used across sectors to communicate valuable insights about complex topics, supporting awareness and understanding. These case studies aim to generate timely, evidence-based insights into GenAI so as to support research and training into topics such as research integrity and the evolving demands of AI governance in the context of Industry 5.0. Designed to be instructive rather than purely descriptive, they explore the nuanced challenges of implementing responsible AI in education. By presenting real-world, context-rich examples, the case studies support deeper engagement with the ethical, regulatory, and pedagogical tensions of GenAI, offering practical tools to inform coursework and research training across the sector. Researchers, research leaders, and those engaged in Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) can draw on these case studies in several key ways: For Researchers and Research Leadership
The case studies offer empirical examples and critical reflections that can inform future investigations into AI ethics, digital governance, and the pedagogical implications of GenAI. They serve as a springboard for comparative studies, interdisciplinary collaborations, and theoretical development in the field of AI and education. Leaders responsible for shaping institutional research culture and strategy can use the case studies to guide policy development, inform the design of research integrity frameworks, and support capacity building in ethical AI adoption across faculties and research centres. For SoTL Practitioners and SOTL Leadership
Those involved in SoTL can use the case studies to critically examine how AI is reshaping teaching, learning, and assessment practices. The real-world scenarios offer opportunities to design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based pedagogical innovations that align with principles of inclusion, safety, and integrity.
